Bruce Kitchens

Bruce G. Kitchens, 93, husband of Nell Kitchens, died early Sunday morning, September 18, 2016 at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation in Metter.

Born in Emanuel County, he was the son of Marion Harvey Kitchens and Sallie Marie Kitchens.  Mr. Kitchens was a member of Scarboro Missionary Baptist Church having joined the church 66 years ago.  He was a farmer and retired Bus Driver having retired from the Candler County Board of Education in 1988 after 37 years of service.  Mr. Kitchens was an avid snooker pool player and he loved fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Nell Mincey Kitchens of Metter; a daughter and son-in-law, Monice and Joey Holloway of Metter; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve and Karen Kitchens of Pembroke, Don Kitchens of Metter, and Mike Kitchens of Metter; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 6 until 8 o’clock at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11 o’clock in the chapel of Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

Interment will be in Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
