Blonnie Ellen Lanier Callaway, 104, left this world behind on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, surrounded by family at her home.
Born on June 16, 1919, she was the daughter of John B. and Rebecca Cannady Lanier. She was born in Candler County in the Rosemary Community. She grew up in Metter and then later moved to Collins, Ga with her late husband, Madison Callaway. She led a farm life for the entirety of her existence. Her experiences and activities as a wife and mother of 5 children are far too expansive to cover. From piano playing to cooking, sewing, furniture making, fishing, and bargain-hunting, she was very active and left few stones unturned. She also enjoyed gardening and selling the produce that she grew.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Madison Callaway, a son, Roy Callaway, and a daughter, Peggy Calloway.
She is survived by her sons, Earl and Bob Callaway, and a daughter, Faye Callaway Neely, 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
