Big Sunny Youmans

Vernon “Big Sunny” Lamar Youmans, Jr., of Metter, passed away early Thursday morning, October 31, 2024, at Grace Gardens Assisted Living in Metter.

Mr. Youmans was born in Metter and lived there his entire life.  He was a member of Primitive Grove Primitive Baptist Church and a farmer.  Mr. Youmans loved to hunt and fish and was a member of Pelican Hunting Club on the Altamaha River.  He was preceded in death by his parents Lamar Youmans, Sr. and Carolyn Mallard Youmans.

Surviving are his son, Vernon “Little Sunny” Lamar Youmans, III, and a grandchild, Chanlee Elizabeth Youmans.

The funeral service will be held 3 o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Primitive Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Rusty Rushing officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 o’clock in the afternoon at the Church on Sunday.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
