Betty Jean McCullough Beasley, 85, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Cedar Plantation. Betty was a native and lifelong resident of Candler County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Samuel and Ida Lou Wiggins McCullough. As a wife, mother and homemaker, she was proud to have raised four children and see them all become college graduates. She completed her career working for the State of Georgia at the High Hope Centers in Statesboro and Manassas.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Murphy Beasley; an infant son; her parents; and three brothers, Samuel Dewitt McCullough, Freddie Carl McCullough and Jerry McCullough
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Carey English of Jacksonville, Florida, Kay and David Whipkey of Wesley Chapel, Florida and Fonda and Brad Morrison of Canton, Georgia; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Denese Beasley of Loganville, Georgia; three grandchildren, Meagan English, Lindsay (Brian) Corbett and Slover Morrison; two sisters, Shirley Beasley and Faye (Bernard) Mixon; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Cedar Plantation for the wonderful care given to our mother for the past several years.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Rev. Gene Hiers officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Ricky McCullough, Jerome Medlock, Robert Franklin, Randy Beasley, Ronnie Medlock and Kelly Mixon.
