Bertie Mae Harbuck Rigdon, 86, of Metter, and widow of O.B. Rigdon, died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation in Metter.
Born in Jenkins County, the daughter of Joseph Vernon and Mae Wiggins Harbuck, she lived most of her Life in Metter. Mrs. Rigdon retired from Twin City Manufacturing Company and was of the Methodist faith. She loved doing word search puzzles, her flower garden and enjoyed listening to Rev. Charles Stanley.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs Rigdon was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Rioux, Vera Holbrook and Jackie Gordon; and a great grandson, Zack Jarrell.
Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Gary Jarrell of Metter, Rita and Gary Cowart of Wadley, Penny and Tim Watson of Twin City; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack and Betty Rigdon of Midville and Ricky Rigdon of Metter; two step-sons, Earl and Carl Rigdon both of Metter; two sisters, Vernell Classens of Metter and Kathy Conley of Register; four brothers, Henry Harbuck of Savannah, Joe Harbuck of Pooler, Rex Harbuck of Savannah and Raymond Harbuck of Metter; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2 o'clock at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with burial in the Rosemary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Lane Jarrell, Bishop Jarrell, Chad Watson, Nathan Turner, Garrett Jarrell and Zachary Dalgard.
