Bertha Mae Mcghee Padgett

Mrs. Bertha Mae McGhee Padgett, 83, passed away October 7, 2014 at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons.

Living most of her life in Cobbtown, she moved to Lyons in 2007. She loved to crochet and she loved children. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Stokes Padgett; her parents, John McGhee and Maggie Smith McNeely; a step-father, George McNeely; all of her siblings, Billy McGhee, Bobby McNeely, Johnny McNeely and Oannell Furlong; a son David Emanuel, Jr. and a step-son, Erman Padgett.

She is survived by sons and a daughter-in-law, Archie Emanuel of Lyons, Allen and Ruth Emanuel of Waynesboro, MS, Robert and Sharon Emanuel of Hardeeville, SC and Jimmy Padgett of Lyons; daughters and a son-in-law, JoAnn Galbreth of Uvalda and Christie and Keith Cregg of Hardeeville, SC; nineteen grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel with Rev. Rick Wilson and Rev. Kevin Crosby officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Williamson, Timothy O'Neal, Jr., Dale Sikes, Leroy Sharpe, Allen Bryiant Emanuel and Robert Justin Emanuel.
