Bart Lynn

Joseph Bart Lynn, 81, of Collins, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia.

Bart was born to the late James Matthew Lynn and Ruby Juanette Carter Lynn in Cobbtown. After graduating from Collins High School in 1961, he became a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served as a flight line mechanic. He later took pride in his work as a carpenter. He loved fishing, drinking coffee, and spending time with his grandkids. In his younger days, he enjoyed camping and working on his tractor. Above all, Bart enjoyed spending time with his family.

Bart is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Raymond Lynn; his son-in-law, David Owen; and his childhood best friend, Tommy Odum.

Those who will cherish Bart’s memory are his daughters, Lisa Owen and Kaitlyn (Dewayne) Hooten; Brother, James (Sue) Lynn; Sisters, Janice (Wallace) Jarriel and Barbara Williams; Grandchildren, Sarah Owen, Mary Owen, Jeremiah Hooten, Zaidyn Hilz, and Dewayne Hooten Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include John Jarriel, David Jarriel, Dorsey Williams, Brian Flanders, Mike Fox, Bobby Solano, Matthew Solano, Andrew Solano, Coby Fox, Bryson Flanders, and Lou Lively.

Honorary Pallbearers include the Collins High School Class of '61.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Kennedy Funeral Home Cobbtown Chapel from 1-2 PM

A funeral service will follow at Kennedy Funeral Home Cobbtown Chapel at 2 PM with Elder Lee Chambers officiating.

Interment will be in Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, of Cobbtown.
