Barbara Kay Lanier Lively Nail, 67, of Collins passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. Born in Kissimmee, Florida, she was the daughter of Tom and Alice Barber Lanier and had lived most of her life in Collins. Kay was a homemaker, a seamstress and flower gardener. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. As a member of the Lyons First Baptist Church and the Helping Hands Sunday School Class, she and Ben L. were in charge of serving the Wednesday night church suppers. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ottie Lively, Sr. and her parents.
Survivors are her husband of almost 16 years, Ben L. Nail of Collins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ottie and Renee Lively of Collins, Tommy and Stacy Lively of Talmo, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Joey Kirkland of Millen; two step-daughters and their husbands, Melissa and Dewey Batton of Smyrna, Tennessee, Marcella and Lee Sapp of Lyons; a step-son and his wife, Dr. Brent and Mary Lynn Nail of Bogart, Georgia; two brothers, Edward (Annette) Lanier of Collins and Jim Lanier of Kissimmee, Florida; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 am, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Danny Williams and Elder Lee Price officiating. Burial will be in the Sunlight Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 6-8 pm, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brian Kirkland, Tyler Kirkland, Justin Johnson, Jason Lanier, John Jarriel and Daniel Kennedy.
