Ann Marie Jackson Sikes

Ann Marie Jackson Sikes, 80, of Metter, and widow of Carroll Sikes, died Sunday afternoon, August 7, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Sikes was born in Dunn, North Carolina and was a daughter of Arvie L. Jackson, Sr. and Willa Parker Jackson.  She married her husband Carroll at an early age and the couple was married for over fifty-seven years until his death in 2015.  They lived in many places as a military family before settling in Metter in the 1960’s.  Mrs. Sikes work for Franklin Hardware in Metter for over thirty years. She attended Salem Baptist Church in years past and in recent years attended Lake Primitive Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cooking and family dinners and working at the hardware store.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sikes was preceded in death by a son, Joseph; a brother, Arvie, and two sisters, Josephine and Peggy.

Surviving are her two daughters, Pam Jones (Ricky) of Metter and Barbara Bird (Rick) of St. Cloud, Florida; two sons, Knocker Sikes and Timmy Sikes (Angel) of Metter; three sisters, Dean Parrish, Barbara Bradshaw, and Charlene Sutton (Marlon) all of Erwin, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Leslie Rigdon, Bubba Morgan, Austin Jones, Adam Starcher, J. J. Starcher, Timmy Starcher, Barbie Starcher, Brandon Sikes, Joseph Sikes, Lance Sikes, Wendy Sikes, Gabby Sikes, and Charles Sikes; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 6 until 8 ‘clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The funeral will be held 3 o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Lake Primitive Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in Lake Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Austin Jones, Bubba Morgan, Adam Starcher, Timmy Starcher, Joseph Sikes, and Lance Sikes.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
