Andrew David (Papa) Vanhorn

Andrew David (Papa) VanHorn of Metter passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at his son’s residence. Andy was born December 16, 1957, in Albany, Georgia, a son of John Kenny VanHorn and Barbara Lewis VanHorn Helms. He lived most of his life in Savannah, having worked at Stone Container and Union Camp. He was most recently self-employed as a flooring contractor.

Andy was of the Methodist faith and loved three things most of all; hunting, fishing, and his grandchildren. He loved them dearly and took great pleasure in spending as much time with them as possible.

Left to cherish Papa’s memory are his children, Scott (Mary) VanHorn of Metter; James (Nichole) VanHorn of Baxley; and Nikki (Kara) VanHorn of Fayetteville; and several grandchildren; his siblings, Michael (Marcia) VanHorn of Bluffton, SC; Julia Nutt of Rochelle; Linda Brasher of Birmingham, Al; and Renee (Tony) Morris of Hazlehurst, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 2, 2021, at 11 o’clock in the morning at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter. Visitation will immediately follow the service.
