Aaron Sewell, 83, of Cobbtown died Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Ogeechee Area Hospice. Born in Cobbtown, he was the son of the late Henry Joshua and Lorie Kicklighter Sewell. He was a brick mason and loved fishing, hunting and gospel music. Aaron was a great gardener who enjoyed sharing his vegetables with his family and neighbors. He was a loving father and grandfather. Preceding him in death were two sons, Henry Sewell and Tony Sewell and a son-in-law, George Powell.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Nannie Lou Sewell of Cobbtown; daughters and a son-in-law, Gail and James Curl and Angie Powell all of Cobbtown; a brother, Roger Carter of Metter; three sisters, Vondelle Blaxton of Cedar Crossing, Eunice Collins of Lyons and Marion Davis of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, 5:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Joey Holloway officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:30 pm before the service. Burial will be in the Sunlight Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gerald Powell, Barry Booth, Charlie Jarriel, Jeremy Curl, Jerry Powell and Johnny Sikes.
